Washington, DC – The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) is delighted to announce the election of Amy Hellen to its Board of Trustees. Amy is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for Discover Financial Services.
Amy brings a wealth of experience in leading and developing effective compliance programs. Throughout her career, she has overseen critical areas such as risk identification, mitigation, and reporting-ensuring consumer and counterparty protection. Her leadership encompasses functions like Fair and Responsible Banking, customer privacy, anti-bribery/corruption compliance, regulatory change management, and regulatory examinations.
Prior to her current role, Amy held progressively senior positions in Risk Management and Compliance at TD Bank for 15 years. Her experience also includes retail banking roles at Chase, PNC, and Fifth Third Bank.
Amy is actively involved in promoting women’s leadership and mentoring within the financial services industry. She currently serves on the boards of Ascendus and Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management and Lubin School of Accounting. She holds an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Syracuse University.
